Plot summary
Adam Jones once cooked at a celebrated Paris restaurant owned by his mentor Jean-Luc, until drugs and a manic drive for perfection destroyed his career and the restaurant with it. He vanished, got sober, and spent his exile shucking a million oysters in New Orleans. Back in London, Adam wants a third Michelin star. Tony, Jean-Luc's former maître d'hôtel, now runs his father's hotel and does not trust the man who missed Jean-Luc's funeral. At Conti's restaurant Adam notices the sous-chef Helene, who dismisses him as arrogant. Michel, whose kitchen Adam once wrecked out of envy, agrees to work for him anyway, while his rival Reece wants nothing to do with him.
