Damon Wayans
Biography
Damon Wayans, born in Harlem, New York City, is an American comic performer, writer, and producer who started in stand-up in 1982. He made an early film cameo in Beverly Hills Cop (1984) and joined Saturday Night Live for part of the 1985 to 1986 season, then left the sketch show. With his brother Keenen he created the Fox series In Living Color, which premiered in 1990; Wayans departed in 1992 to concentrate on movies. His film work included The Last Boy Scout (1991) and Mo' Money (1992), and he wrote and starred in Blankman (1994). Other credits include Bulletproof (1996), The Great White Hype (1996), Celtic Pride (1996), and Major Payne (1995). He also produced the animated series Waynehead and starred in My Wife and Kids from 2001 to 2005. He played Roger Murtaugh on Lethal Weapon from 2016 to 2019 and returned to scripted television with Poppa's House in 2024.
