Steve James
Biography
Steve James was an American actor and stunt performer known for 1980s action films, often from Cannon Films. A New York City native, he began with stage work and television commercials before entering film as a stunt performer on New York productions such as The Wiz, The Warriors, and The Wanderers. He took bit parts in The Warriors (1979) and The Land That Time Forgot (1974), then had his first notable role in The Exterminator (1980). Often cast as a sidekick or supporting player, he appeared in American Ninja (1985) and its sequels American Ninja 2: The Confrontation (1987) and then American Ninja 3: Blood Hunt (1989), Avenging Force (1986), The Delta Force (1986), Hero and the Terror (1988), Mask (1985), and Johnny Be Good (1988). He played Kung Fu Joe in I'm Gonna Git You Sucka (1988). Leads included Riverbend (1989) and Street Hunter (1990). He completed Bloodfist V: Human Target (1994) before his death in 1993.
