Plot summary
Darryl Walker repairs things and invents gadgets from junk, including a robot assistant named J-5, while his brother Kevin works as a tabloid news cameraman. The brothers live with their grandmother, a supporter of Alderman Marvin Harris, who is campaigning for mayor against corruption. Kevin wants to report seriously on the mobster Michael "The Suit" Minelli, but his boss Larry Stone refuses. When their grandmother is killed in a mob hit at Harris's campaign headquarters, Darryl begins fighting crime himself, making ordinary clothing bulletproof and building weapons and gadgets. Kevin disapproves, and after Darryl is arrested, Kevin takes him to a psychiatrist and then plays along with the fantasy. When Darryl delivers a baby in an elevator as his costumed alter ego, a reporter asks his name, and Kevin's remark that he went blank gives him one.
