Plot summary
Ben O'Malley and Larry Fischer, recent college graduates, come back to their New Hampshire hometown before heading to New York, where Ben's internship at a recycling company starts in a few weeks. Ben stays with his father Wayne, a widower who is unemployed and spends much of his time drunk. The two friends go to a local bar and find former schoolmates there. Ben spots Meredith Parker, a girl from his childhood, but he fails to get her number. Talk turns to which of the two fathers, Wayne or Mardy, would win in a fight, and Wayne takes the question seriously.
