Plot summary
Dave Buznik works as a secretary in Brooklyn for Frank, a boss who treats him poorly, and he dates Linda. As a young man he was humiliated in Brooklyn, and the memory makes it hard for him to show affection in public. His co-worker Andrew is close to Linda and hopes to revive a past romance with her. On a flight, Dave's exasperation with a flight attendant is misread as rage; a sky marshal tasers him, and Judge Brenda Daniels sends him to anger management under Dr. Buddy Rydell, who sat beside him on the flight. The group's other clients are far more volatile than he is, and a bar fight in which he hurts a waitress as he defends himself extends his sentence. Buddy proposes live-in treatment instead of prison and moves into Dave's apartment.
