Biography
Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje is a British actor who moved from modeling into Hollywood and began acting with a part in Congo in 1995. He became familiar to television viewers as Simon Adebisi, the inmate he played in HBO's Oz, and as Mr. Eko in ABC's Lost. His film credits include Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls (1995), where he played Hitu; The Mummy Returns (2001), as Lock-Nah; The Bourne Identity (2002), as a deposed African dictator; G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2009), as Heavy Duty; The Thing (2011), as Derek Jameson; Thor: The Dark World (2013), as Kurse; Concussion (2015), as Dave Duerson; and Suicide Squad (2016), as Killer Croc. He also played Malko in Game of Thrones. Farming (2018), which he directed, was his first feature and had its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival; it won the festival's Michael Powell Award for Best British Feature at Edinburgh.

A role that slipped away
In 2009, Akinnuoye-Agbaje discussed playing the superhero Black Panther with Marvel Studios for a proposed film of that name. Marvel announced a Black Panther film in 2014, but Chadwick Boseman got the title role.

Farming was the first feature Akinnuoye-Agbaje directed. The movie had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2018.

Akinnuoye-Agbaje moved into acting after his modeling work brought him to Hollywood. His first acting job came in 1995, in the film Congo.
