Danny Bryce, Hunter, Davies and Meier work as mercenaries. In Mexico, Danny is shot during an assignment and afterward steps away from the group, returning to Australia. A year later the Agent brings him to Oman and tells him Hunter has been captured. To free him, Danny has to finish the job Hunter could not: Amr, a deposed sheikh whose three eldest sons were killed during the Dhofar Rebellion, wants three former SAS troopers dead, and Danny must record their confessions and make the deaths look accidental before Amr's illness kills him.
