Plot summary
The Texas Rangers broke up John Henry Lee's train robbery twenty years ago. Now he walks out of prison, and hours later he and Charlie Lee, his brother, hold up a Del Rio bank for $20,000 in gold. Captain Oren Hayes, the Ranger who arrested him, takes up the chase, driven partly by their old rivalry over Maggie, who married Hayes. John Henry gathers his old crew: Charlie as the driver, the gambler Kelly Sutton, the gunfighter Fargo Parker and the demolitions man Nitro Jones. Hayes wires his retired Rangers, Nash Crawford, Jason Fitch and George Asque. The recruits have aged: Jason can barely see, Nash lives in a retirement home, and Kelly cannot hold his liquor. A younger outlaw band led by Cotton also wants the gold.
