Plot summary
Jackie Dorsey, the daughter of Olympic gold medalists Kate Moseley and Doug Dorsey, sets out to win a gold medal of her own in figure skating. A serious injury puts that goal in doubt, and pairs skating looks like a better route to the Olympics, but interviews with prospective partners go badly. Her parents send her to Los Angeles, where she meets Alex Harrison, a surfer and in-line skater. Alex sees Jackie on television describing her search, arrives for an interview, and shows natural talent despite having trained only a short time.
