Plot summary
Ex-federal agent Machete Cortez and agent Sartana Rivera move against corrupt military members and a Mexican drug cartel group. The gangsters kill the soldiers, then a separate group of masked men kills Sartana. Machete is arrested for the killing and hanged by Sheriff Doakes and Deputy Clebourne, but he lives. President Rathcock summons him to the White House and offers to clear his record and grant him citizenship if he confirms the threat from Marcos Mendez, a revolutionary who threatens to launch a nuclear missile at Washington unless the American government moves against the cartels and Mexico's corrupt officials. Machete's first stop is San Antonio, where beauty contestant Blanca Vasquez is assigned as his handler.
