Plot summary
Julia Lofting is an American housewife living in London with her husband Magnus and their daughter Kate. At breakfast one morning Kate chokes, and a tracheotomy that goes wrong kills her. The death traumatizes Julia and breaks a marriage that was already unstable. She separates from Magnus, who does not want a divorce, and takes a large furnished house in Holland Park to begin again on her own. On an upper floor she finds a bedroom still holding a child's possessions, and soon other odd events follow, noises she cannot place and appliances that come on with no one near them. A young girl she takes for Kate appears in the park opposite the house, then is gone.

- Mia Farrow shot Full Circle while appearing in the Royal Shakespeare Company's Ivanov, and director Richard Loncraine said she disappeared for two days after a nervous breakdown, temporarily halting the tense shoot.
- Full Circle was shot in London in seven weeks on CA$1.1 million, but production was reportedly rushed to beat the end of its Canadian backers' tax year, leaving three weeks for the script, location scouting and casting.
- Producer Peter Fetterman flew to Los Angeles to cast a "bankable" lead and failed, then approached Mia Farrow backstage after a London stage performance; she was reluctant, mainly working in theater, but he convinced her.

The cut of Full Circle shown at the 1977 Marché du Film ran about six minutes longer than the released version; in it Magnus is not killed breaking into Julia's house but leaves angrily for a social club, and the film was recut in April 1978 over pacing.- Composer Colin Towns wrote and recorded his score for Full Circle before the film was shot, working from the screenplay alone.
- Poor storage of the film elements between completion and the 1981 U.S. release left the film stock with a brown hue visible on American copies.
