Plot summary
Residents of Fouke, Arkansas tell of the Fouke Monster, a tall creature covered in reddish-brown hair that they say has been seen around the community since the 1940s. They describe three-toed tracks and a foul odor. The account presents itself as a true story, built from interviews with locals and reenactments of what they say they witnessed. A farmer says the creature hauled away two of his pigs, each around a hundred pounds, clearing a fence with them under its arm. A kitten is shown to have been scared to death. Hunters take dogs after the creature, and the dogs will not give chase. A constable says it darted into the road ahead of his car as he drove home one night.
