Keir Dullea

Keir Dullea is an American actor who trained at the Neighborhood Playhouse. Born in Cleveland and raised in Greenwich Village, he began on television before making his film debut in Hoodlum Priest (1961). His breakout came in David and Lisa (1962), starring opposite Janet Margolin; the low-budget hit established him and brought a Golden Globe for Most Promising Male Newcomer and a BAFTA nomination. He then went to England for Bunny Lake Is Missing (1965). His most famous role is astronaut David Bowman in Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968), which he reprised in 2010: The Year We Make Contact (1984). He appeared in Black Christmas (1974). In The Good Shepherd (2006) he played a senator. Later he acted in Infinitely Polar Bear (2014). On Broadway he starred in Butterflies Are Free. He later joined the cast of Doubles. He has also performed in regional theater.
