Plot summary
The war between the Vikings of Berk and the dragons is over, and the village is preparing for Snoggletog, its first winter holiday since the fighting stopped. Then every dragon in the village flies off without warning. Toothless alone stays behind, because he cannot fly unless Hiccup works his tailfin by hand. Hiccup builds him a new automatic tailfin, and the dragon leaves as well. Astrid tries to salvage the occasion as the village panics, while Stoick, Gobber, Snotlout, Fishlegs, Ruffnut and Tuffnut are left without their dragons. Hiccup wants to learn where the dragons have gone and to bring them home before the holiday.
