Plot summary
By 2074, cyborgs do the work of soldiers and prostitutes, and two firms dominate the trade: Pinwheel Robotics in the United States and Kobayashi Electronics in Japan. Pinwheel's newest prototype, Casella Reese, is made for espionage and killing, and her body carries a liquid explosive known as Glass Shadow. The company's head, Martin Dunn, intends to send her into the Japanese firm's headquarters and set her off, removing its board of directors and handing him the market. Cash, as she is known, is built to feel fear, love, pain and hate, and Mercy, a renegade cyborg who speaks through electronic devices, guides her and her combat trainer, Colton Ricks, away from the Pinwheel facility. A hired killer, Daniel Bench, follows them.
