Plot summary
The Second World War as Hollywood tells it begins with a casting problem: the leading man lined up to play Winston Churchill strikes a group of American executives as too plain, so an American G.I. takes the part. In the war they put on screen, Churchill is handsome, and he falls in love with Princess Elizabeth, who serves as an undercover agent. Adolf Hitler installs himself in Buckingham Palace and intends to marry into the Windsor family. The King and a taxi driver take him for Charlie Chaplin. In the executives' war, the British court and the war government are a collection of fools and traitors.
