Plot summary
Lyn Cassady, a retired Special Forces operator, tells reporter Bob Wilton that he belonged to the New Earth Army, a unit that trained soldiers in invisibility, remote viewing and phasing. Bob, who writes for the Ann Arbor Daily Telegram and whose wife has left him for his editor, has flown to Kuwait to cover the Iraq War. Lyn describes how Bill Django, an Army officer who fell from a helicopter in Vietnam, went to Northern California to study gentleness as a soldier's strength and later led the New Earth Army's training at Fort Bragg, with Cassady and Larry Hooper as his leading students. Prompted by a vision of Bill Django, Lyn takes Bob into Iraq.
