Plot summary
One of the richest men in America, Brendan Byers III wants to fight Hitler, but the Army classifies him 4-F and turns him away. He refuses to accept that answer. He gathers other men rejected for service, along with volunteers from his own staff, and forms a mercenary army of his own, paying for the training and equipment. The unit travels to the front in Italy, where Byers poses as a Nazi general named Eric Kesselring. His aim is to pull the German lines back, since the front has stood still for a long time, so the Allies can push forward again.
