Plot summary
The Trolls are small, colorful creatures who sing, dance and hug, and the Bergens are the large, miserable ones who believe only eating a Troll can make them happy. The Trolls escaped Bergen captivity twenty years earlier under King Peppy's leadership. His daughter, Princess Poppy, organizes a party to mark the anniversary, though a serious gray Troll named Branch warns the celebration could expose their home. Chef, banished from Bergen Town and still hunting the Trolls, follows the fireworks to the village and carries off Poppy's friends. While the other Trolls shelter in Branch's bunker, Poppy sets out alone to free them, and Branch, who considers the quest hopeless, reluctantly goes with her.
