Olive Carey

Biography

Olive Carey was an American actress who worked in film and television. She was born in New York City in 1896 and made her screen debut in Sorrowful Jones (1913), followed by Tess of the Storm Country (1914). Her filmography ran to over fifty features, many of them Westerns, and she was often cast in tomboy roles; one of those was Gunfight at the O.K. Corral (1957). On television she guest starred in The Joseph Cotten Show in 1956 and played the housekeeper Elsie on the CBS series Mr. Adams and Eve in 1957 and 1958. She later appeared on Dennis the Menace and was cast in the NBC Westerns Cimarron City and The Restless Gun. From 1960 to 1961 she played Casey, a secretary, on Lock-Up, and she also appeared in Laramie and Lawman.
