Plot summary

Years ago, Johnny Black's father worked as an exhibition shooter with Johnny's mother. Brett Clayton challenged him to a quick draw duel and shot him while he was unarmed. Johnny vows to gun Brett down for the killing, a vow that makes him a wanted man. In Cheyanne he sees white men beating an Indian kid and tries to step in, but he is overpowered and jailed. Brett robs the town bank and murders several innocent people. Johnny reaches a neighboring mining town and passes himself off as Percy, a preacher, while Tom Sheally, the baron there, works to steal the land from the townsfolk.
