Plot summary
Rex O'Herlihan is a singing cowboy, and when the story shifts out of black and white into color, he alone knows the shape of the plots he lives in. He rides his horse Wildfire into Oakwood Estates, where cattle ranchers under Colonel Ticonderoga have the sheep herders under their thumb and the sheriff does as the Colonel says. In the saloon Peter, the town drunk, trades the local history for a drink, and Miss Tracy, the prostitute with a heart of gold, is there too.
