Plot summary
The coronation is performed by Napoleon Bonaparte's own hand, and the first part of the story stays with the ceremony and the political maneuvering that follows it. Napoleon is also at war with the English. He then drives eastward, where Austria and Russia have gathered their forces against him, and the second part of the story covers the battle he fights against both the Austrian and the Russian armies. The longer French version adds scenes in which Napoleon visits his mistress.

- Composer Jean Ledrut sued producer Joe Meek, claiming the 1962 hit "Telstar" plagiarised "La Marche d'Austerlitz" from his score. The suit was dismissed but cost Meek royalties for life and was only settled in his favour three weeks after his 1967 suicide; Meek had never heard of the film, which reached the UK in 1965.
