Biography
Tovah Feldshuh is an American actress, singer, and playwright whose Broadway career has spanned fifty years and brought four Tony Award nominations and two Emmy Award nominations. Born in New York City and raised in Scarsdale, New York, she trained at HB Studio and started at the Guthrie Theater under Michael Langham, where she received the McKnight Fellowship in Acting. She made her Broadway debut in the 1973 musical Cyrano and later played the title role in Yentl off-Broadway and on Broadway. Her stage work also includes Golda's Balcony, a one-woman play that set a Broadway record in 2005. She came to international prominence in the 1978 miniseries Holocaust, later had a recurring role on Law & Order from 1991 to 2007, and appeared in films such as A Walk on the Moon (1999), Kissing Jessica Stein (2001), and She's Funny That Way (2014). She also played Deanna Monroe on The Walking Dead in 2015 and 2016.
