Plot summary
Daniel Isaacson is the son of Paul and Rochelle Isaacson, who were put to death in the 1950s as Soviet spies. In the 1960s he is a graduate student in New York and takes part in the antiwar protest movement. He believes his parents were wrongfully convicted, and he sets their memory against what he is living through now. The story follows his attempt to find the truth about the case. It is a fictionalized account of the lives of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, who were convicted of passing nuclear secrets to the Soviet Union and executed in 1953.
