Robert Easton
Biography
Robert Easton was an American actor and dialect coach whose career lasted more than 60 years. Born in Milwaukee and raised in Texas, he started on radio as a teenager and joined the cast of Quiz Kids at 14. He entered films in 1949 with an uncredited bit part in Undertow (1949) and earned his first screen credit in The Red Badge of Courage (1951). Other film roles followed in Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (1961) and The War Lover (1962), while on television he often played slow-talking country characters. He later became a leading Hollywood dialect coach, mastering more than 200 accents and helping hundreds of actors and stars speak convincing dialects. He taught language and dialects at UCLA and USC and voiced Thomas Jefferson at Epcot. He died in 2011.

First role
At 14, Easton auditioned and won a place in the cast of the Chicago radio program Quiz Kids, touring the country with the other child prodigies in 1945.
First role
Easton's first television appearance was a brief uncredited hillbilly role on The Jack Benny Program, aired November 4, 1951, in which he exchanged rifle fire with another mountain man.
A change of course
Easton learned more than 200 accents, covering ethnic, historical, regional and sociological varieties. By the late 1970s, teaching had become his main vocation, overtaking acting as actors, screenwriters, directors and studio executives sought him out.
Beyond film
Easton gave his voice to the audio-animatronic Thomas Jefferson inside The American Adventure pavilion. That pavilion opened in 1982 at Epcot, the Disney theme park in Florida.
