Navid Negahban
Biography
Navid Negahban is an Iranian-American actor who also produces and directs. Born in Mashhad, he was drawn to the stage at eight and got laughs playing an old man. He left Iran at 17, spent eight years in Germany with a theater company, and moved to the United States in 1993. His television work includes 24, Mistresses and Homeland, where he played the terrorist mastermind Abu Nazir, along with the role of Amahl Farouk, or Shadow King, in Legion. On film he played Syrian General Sarraj in Damascus Cover (2017), General Abdul Rashid Dostum in 12 Strong (2018) and the Sultan in Aladdin (2019). He voiced Dr. Challus Mercer in the video game Dead Space, was nominated for a BAFTA Games Award for 1979 Revolution: Black Friday, and directed the short The Apple Tree, which was named best short at the Japan Indies Film Festival. He also executive produced Baba Joon, which won five Ophir Awards including Best Picture.
