Meg Tilly

Meg Tilly is an American actress and novelist who began as a dancer before turning to acting. Born in Long Beach, California, and raised in British Columbia, she studied acting with Peggy Feury after making her screen debut as a dancer in Fame (1980). Her early films include Tex (1982), One Dark Night (1982), Psycho II (1983), and The Big Chill (1983), the award-winning ensemble film that raised her profile. She earned a Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award nomination for Agnes of God (1985). Later credits include Valmont (1989), The Two Jakes (1990), Leaving Normal (1992), and Body Snatchers (1993). She returned to acting in 2010 and won a 2013 Canadian Screen Award for Bomb Girls. She also played Martha in a 2011 production of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? Tilly has written several novels, among them Porcupine (2007), a Sheila A. Egoff Children's Literature Prize finalist.
