Biography
Lee Meriwether is a retired American actress who began her public life as a beauty queen, winning Miss California in 1954 and Miss America in 1955. Born in Los Angeles in 1935 and raised in San Francisco, she worked as a Today Girl on NBC from 1955 to 1956 before making her acting debut in 1954 on Television Playhouse. Her feature debut came in 4D Man (1959). She is known for portraying Catwoman in the 1966 film Batman: The Movie (1966) and for co-starring on The Time Tunnel. From 1973 to 1980 she played Betty Jones on Barnaby Jones, a role that brought her two Golden Globe nominations and an Emmy nomination. She later had a long recurring part on All My Children. Her films include The Undefeated (1969), Return to the Batcave: The Misadventures of Adam and Burt (2003), The Ultimate Gift (2006), and The Ultimate Life (2013).
