Plot summary
Word comes to Batman and Robin that Commodore Schmidlapp is in peril on his yacht. The two fly out in the Batcopter. As Batman lowers himself on the bat-ladder, the vessel vanishes beneath him, and a shark clamps onto his leg; he frees himself with bat-shark repellent. At Commissioner Gordon's office, they work out that the message was a set-up. Behind it stands the United Underworld, four of the most powerful criminals in Gotham City: Catwoman, the Joker, the Penguin and the Riddler. Schmidlapp's dehydrator, which reduces people to dust, is in their hands, and he himself has been taken without knowing it. They depart in a war-surplus submarine shaped like a penguin and hire three pirate henchmen: Bluebeard, Morgan and Quetch.
