Harland Williams
Biography
Harland Williams, a Canadian and American comedian and actor, began performing stand-up in 1984 while studying at Sheridan College. He worked the Toronto comedy scene for seven years before moving to Los Angeles in 1992, and a 1993 spot on Late Night with David Letterman helped launch his career; Jim Carrey brought him to the Farrelly brothers, who cast him in his first film role in Dumb and Dumber (1994). He took starring roles in Simon, a short-lived sitcom, and in the Disney comedy RocketMan (1997). In 1998 he appeared in Half Baked and There's Something About Mary, playing a psychopathic hitch-hiker there. Credits include Sorority Boys (2002), The Whole Nine Yards (2000), Superstar (1999), Down Periscope (1996) and Freddy Got Fingered (2001). His voice work includes Sausage Party (2016), Robots (2005) and Meet the Robinsons (2007). He created Puppy Dog Pals, a Disney Junior series, and won a Best Improviser award on Thank God You're Here in 2007.
