Plot summary
New York City's criminal underworld answers to Big Baby Sweets, who keeps Big Stank and Lil' Poot close and has the ninja Hack Benjamin and a pair of Magic Ninjas on hand. The NYPD is powerless against him, so its chief looks outside the department for help: Sugar Bear, a San Francisco detective who worships Dolemite and rhymes when he talks. Officer Harry Cox works the case alongside him, and Sugar Bear sees for himself how little the department can do. Sugar Bear also stops one of Sweets' thugs, Ape Boy, from robbing a local doughnut shop, and he begins a romance with Missy, a 300-pound stripper.

Did you know?!Facts and trivia about Big Money Hustlas (2000)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- While shooting Big Money Hustlas, most of the crew disliked the film and the cast and went on strike twice; halfway through, Joseph "Violent J" Bruce paid $100,000 of his own money to keep filming after it went over budget.
- Jamie Madrox recorded a dub for Violent J's gorilla-suited Ape Boy, but the production company paid $8,000 to replace the audio said it was unable to do it, so the original track with Violent J's voice was kept.
- The Jerky Boys' John G. Brennan and Kamal Ahmed were filmed separately for their parts because they were unable to get along with each other during the shoot.
- Harland Williams appeared at Joseph Bruce's request; Bruce was grateful and impressed that Williams, who had been in Half Baked and There's Something About Mary, agreed to appear in a low-budget independent film.
- The record label Majik Ninja Entertainment, formed by Twiztid in 2014, takes its name from a line the duo delivered in Big Money Hustlas.
- Key songs in the film were taken from Gert Wilden's album Schoolgirl Report rather than the official soundtrack: "Girl Faces" plays during the bedroom love scene and "Little Girls" in the background at the gentlemen's club.
