Plot summary
Twenty-eight-year-old Gord Brody drives from his family's home in Portland, Oregon, to Los Angeles, hoping to sell an animated series. A studio head, Dave Davidson, likes his drawings but calls the concepts nonsense, so Gord quits his job at a cheese sandwich factory and goes back to his parents' house. His father Jim tells him to forget animation and get work. Gord's friend Darren breaks a leg on a half-pipe Gord built outside the house, and at the hospital Gord meets Betty, who uses a wheelchair and is building a rocket-powered model. Gord tells his father he has a job in computers, then takes Betty to dinner, where Jim finds them.

SPOILER
The film received an R rating after requested cuts toned it down from an NC-17, a rating Tom Green described as "like porn with murder". Green put the unedited ending, in which a small child character gets sliced by the airplane propeller, on the DVD; the PG-rated cut of the film is only three minutes long with a comedic voiceover.- The film received eight Golden Raspberry Award nominations in 2002 and won five, and Green personally appeared at the ceremony to accept them, bringing his own red carpet and then playing the harmonica badly for so long that he was dragged off the stage.
- Chris Prynoski, a former Beavis and Butt-Head and Daria animator, produced the "Zebras in America" animation segment as the first project for his company, Titmouse Productions.
