Behind the award
Green was the first performer to accept a Golden Raspberry Award in person, showing up at the 2001 ceremony for Freddy Got Fingered in a white Cadillac and a tuxedo and rolling out his own red carpet.
A change of course
In the early 1990s, Green rapped under the alias MC Bones in a short-lived group, Organized Rhyme. The single Check The O.R. earned a 1993 Juno Award nomination for Best Rap Recording.
Beyond film
Green wrote "Lonely Swedish (The Bum Bum Song)" while putting on a cruise ship show for MTV's Spring Break. He showed its music video and urged viewers to request it, and the song hit number one on Total Request Live, so he soon asked for the video to be retired.
Beyond film
Green hosted the 2025 Canadian Country Music Association Awards in Kelowna, British Columbia, the same year he released Home to the Country, described as his first full-length country album.
Behind the camera
In 2002, Green launched Bob Green Films, his own production company. For a half-hour special on The WB called The Skateboard Show, he served as executive producer and also starred.
