Big break
Furth was working at Revue when producer Edward Montagne cast him in a featured part on McHale's Navy, in the episode "The Dart-Gun Wedding". Montagne then gave him a regular featured role as Lt. Beasley on Broadside, the McHale's Navy spinoff.
Behind the camera
Furth wrote lyrics for a musical revue, with Doug Katsaros composing the music. Working with San Francisco director Mike Ward, they shaped it into The End, performed at the New Conservatory Theatre Center in summer 2004 and later retitled Last Call and Happy Hour.
