Susan Saint James

Susan Saint James is an American former actress who grew up in Rockford, Illinois and began modeling as a teenager. Her first role was in the television movie Fame Is the Name of the Game (1966), which later became a series. She had an early supporting part in Where Angels Go, Trouble Follows (1968) and played research assistant Peggy Maxwell on The Name of the Game from 1968 to 1971, winning an Emmy Award in 1969. She had a recurring role on It Takes a Thief from 1968 to 1970. She starred as Sally McMillan on McMillan & Wife from 1971 to 1976, earning four Emmy nominations. After leaving that show, she appeared in Outlaw Blues (1977), Love at First Bite (1979), and How to Beat the High Cost of Living (1980). She returned to television opposite Jane Curtin in Kate & Allie from 1984 to 1989, received two more Emmy nominations, and retired after the series ended.
