Dan Wyllie
Biography
Dan Wyllie is an Australian actor who works in theater, film, and television. He grew up on Sydney's North Shore and studied drama at school before spending two years at the University of New South Wales, where he performed in amateur shows with the Australian Theatre for Young People. That led to his first screen part in Spotswood (1991), and he followed it with the role of the neo-Nazi skinhead Cackles in Romper Stomper (1992). Further films included Muriel's Wedding (1994), Holy Smoke (1999), Chopper (2000) and Animal Kingdom (2010). On television he played the lead in Bad Cop, Bad Cop from 2002 to 2003 and Charlie Jackson in Love My Way from 2004 to 2007, winning a Silver Logie in 2006. Later credits include Sanctum (2011), Bait (2012), Charlie's Country (2013) and The Water Diviner (2014). He originated the role of Fish Lamb in the stage production Cloudstreet and voiced B2 in Bananas in Pyjamas.

First role
While he was still at university and acting in amateur theater with ATYP, an agent sought adolescents for the 1991 film Spotswood. Wyllie got his first screen acting role in that film.
Big break
The next year, Wyllie took the part of Cackles, a neo-Nazi skinhead, in Romper Stomper, acting alongside Crowe. Crowe was also the person who got Wyllie his first agent.

Wyllie played a janitor in the 2003 music video for Good Dancers by alternative rock duo The Sleepy Jackson, which was made up of an almost long take.
