Constantine Gregory
Biography
Constantine Gregory is an American actor who also works as a dialect coach and voice actor, born in New York City and brought up in England. He began his stage career in London's West End in Toad of Toad Hall, then worked in British repertory and spent a season with the Royal Shakespeare Company under Trevor Nunn. His film and television career gained momentum because he spoke fluent Russian during the Cold War, and he later took the surname Gregory to avoid being typecast as a foreigner. His accent skills let him play Russians, Americans, Germans, Spaniards, and a Moroccan, and led to ADR and dubbing work on over 350 films as a voice and group director. He was a dialogue coach on Mussolini: The Untold Story and on Bernardo Bertolucci's Oscar-winning The Last Emperor (1987), in which he played The Oculist. He acted in Taymor's Titus (1999) and worked on Bertolucci's Little Buddha (1994) and The Dreamers (2003).
