Plot summary

Robert Danvers is the wealthy host of a high-profile television cooking show. He is vain and womanizing, and he does not stay long with any of the young women he meets. Marion is nineteen, American, and living as a hippie in London. She has just broken up with Jimmy, a British rock musician. She has no patience for romantic illusions. The two meet, get off to a halting start, and then an affair begins.
