Biography

Bruce Boxleitner is an American actor and writer of science fiction and suspense who built a long career in television, film and voice work. Born in Elgin, Illinois, he trained at the Goodman School of Drama in Chicago before taking leading roles in the series How the West Was Won, Bring 'Em Back Alive and Scarecrow and Mrs. King, and later as John Sheridan on Babylon 5. He played both Alan Bradley and Tron in the Disney film TRON (1982) and returned to those characters in TRON: Legacy (2010) and the animated Tron: Uprising. His other films include Gods and Generals (2003), Kuffs (1992) and The Babe (1992), and he voiced Colin Barrow in Dead Space: Downfall (2008). He also wrote two science fiction novels, Frontier Earth and Searcher.

Early training
Boxleitner trained at the Goodman School of Drama at the Art Institute of Chicago, which is now part of DePaul University.
Behind the camera
Boxleitner is the author of Frontier Earth, published in 1999, and Searcher, published in 2001. Both are science fiction novels that have a Western setting.
Beyond film
Boxleitner voiced Captain Gavin Blaire in the unabridged audio version of World War Z and took a major role in an audio dramatization of The Great Secret.
A change of course
Between 1986 and 1989, Boxleitner was seen in advertisements for the Estee Lauder line called "Lauder For Men", appearing in those ads across that span of years.
