Plot summary
Jolie Guidry is going home to Louisiana for Christmas for the first time since her breakup with Foster Burke. Their parents organize the town's Christmas Market each year, so seeing him is unavoidable, and Foster is bringing a new girlfriend. Jolie cannot face going home alone and watching them together. Her best friend Naomi Friedman, a lawyer, suggests that Jolie bring Naomi's brother Jack, who has no plans for the holiday. Jolie, a professional web designer, is hesitant. Naomi drafts a Christmas contract that offers each of them something they want: a buffer for awkward moments around Jolie's ex, and a website to help sell Jack's upcoming novel.
