Andrew Robinson
Biography
Andrew Robinson is an American actor and the former head of the University of Southern California's Master of Fine Arts acting program. Born in New York City, he started as a stage actor and playwright there before his first television part in 1969 on N.Y.P.D. His feature debut came as the killer Scorpio in Dirty Harry (1971), a role that typecast him as disturbed characters. He had his first lead in Hellraiser (1987) and appeared in Charley Varrick (1973), The Drowning Pool (1975), and Child's Play 3 (1991). On television, he played Frank Ryan on Ryan's Hope from 1976 to 1978, receiving a Daytime Emmy nomination, and later became known for his role as Elim Garak in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine from 1993 to 1999. He also directed television episodes and wrote the novel A Stitch in Time in 2000.

In 2000, Robinson wrote A Stitch in Time, a novel based on the character he played on Deep Space Nine. He said one reason he wrote it was to give the character what he called "total closure."
