Plot summary
In 1958, in Ferren Woods, a blind witch named Ms. Osie feeds a deformed orphan called Tommy, the offspring of Pumpkinhead. Six thugs chase him to an old iron mine and beat him to death. Thirty-five years later Sean Braddock, who grew up there, returns as its sheriff with his wife Beth and his daughter Jenny, a girl with a history of trouble with the law. At school Jenny joins local teenagers, among them Danny Dixon, the son of a man who helped kill Tommy and who is now the town judge. One night, driving Sean's car, Danny hits Ms. Osie; the group goes to her cabin, where they find her spellbook and the blood she kept for Tommy's resurrection. Ms. Osie orders them out, Danny pushes her down and takes a vial, and the teenagers attempt the spell.
