Plot summary
Play Pals decides the old bad publicity has died down and reopens its factory to make Good Guy dolls again. A drop of blood from Chucky's remains falls into the molten plastic, the doll is revived, and he kills the company's chief executive and uses the records to find Andy Barclay. Andy is sixteen now, his mother committed to a psychiatric hospital again, and he has been sent to Kent Military School, where Colonel Cochrane tells him to forget the doll. Andy makes friends with a younger cadet, Ronald Tyler, and with Whitehurst and De Silva, and he clashes with Shelton, who bullies the cadets. A package addressed to Andy's room arrives, and Tyler carries it to the weapons armory and opens it.

- Two ten-year-old killers, one of them Jon Venables, were said to have imitated a scene in which one of Chucky's victims is splashed with blue paint. Albert Kirby, the police officer who directed the investigation, found that Venables was not living with the father who had rented the film, and that he disliked horror films anyway.
- Alex Vincent did not return as Andy Barclay because the film jumps eight years ahead. Mancini then considered Jonathan Brandis for the now 16-year-old role before hiring Justin Whalin, and he had wanted Peter Jackson to direct before Jack Bender took the job.
- Mancini initially wanted to introduce the concept of "multiple Chuckys" in the film, but the idea was scrapped because of budget constraints. He finally used it in the 2017 sequel Cult of Chucky.
