Plot summary
Norm, a polar bear, can speak to humans, a gift shared only by his grandfather, and is shunned by other animals except Socrates, a seagull, and Elizabeth, a female bear. A luxury condo appears on the ice; Socrates points it out to Norm and three lemmings. Inside, Vera, who works for developer Mr. Greene, is caught in an avalanche until Norm rescues her. Mr. Greene asks Vera to find a polar bear mascot for his Arctic housing campaign. Worried, Socrates urges Norm and the lemmings to sneak aboard a ship to New York City. Norm pretends to be an actor in a bear suit, auditions, and lands the job as Mr. Greene's mascot.
