Plot summary
Mallory's sight is failing, and he wants to get back at Steven Ranger, the man who took the profits from his new burglar alarm, before he goes blind. A gang of robbers brings pressure on the inventor and takes him, and the device he built to keep buildings safe becomes a way into them for robberies. Carl is the gang's engineer.
