Plot summary
The Daily Planet announces that the largest shipment of gold bullion ever assembled will travel by rail to the US Mint, with police officers guarding the cars. Lois Lane rides in a passenger car to report the story, and Clark Kent sees her off at the depot. Back at his office, word arrives that robbers hold the train and it is running out of control. Masked robbers have boarded at the back and cut the final car, with the guards inside, loose. Two more reach the locomotive and hurl the engineer and a guard off the train. Hearing the noise, Lois climbs to the cab and shoots back with a machine gun the robbers drop. A stationmaster notices the train pass without stopping and sends a telegraph.
