Alan Baxter

Biography

Alan Baxter was an American actor who worked in film, television, and the theater. Born in East Cleveland, Ohio, he earned a degree from Williams College and then studied at Yale University's 47 Drama Workshop. He joined the Group Theatre in New York City, and his Broadway credits included The Voice of the Turtle, Winged Victory, Home of the Brave, and The Hallams. During World War II he served in the Army Air Corps. On television he had four guest roles on Perry Mason, played the title role in the 1961 episode The Case of the Left-Handed Liar, and appeared in Gunsmoke, Maverick, The Virginian, Ripcord, Cheyenne, Thriller, Alfred Hitchcock Hour, and The Outer Limits. He died in 1976.
