Plot summary
Roger Cobb, an attorney who plays jazz guitar at night, works for Burton Schuyler and dates the boss's daughter, Peggy. His firm looks after the estate of Edwina Cutwater, a wealthy, bedridden eccentric who plans to leave her fortune to Terry Hoskins, the groundskeeper's daughter. Edwina has brought Prahka Lasa, a mystic from Tibet who can move a human soul from one body to another, and she intends to have her own soul placed in Terry. Roger dismisses the whole scheme and storms out. When the transference is tried at the law office, Edwina's soul ends up sharing Roger's body, taking control of his right side while he keeps the left, and he sees her image in mirrors.
